First Goalscorer betting strategy. How First Scorer differs from Anytime, when to take the longer odds of First instead of the safer Anytime, and why penalty takers and set-piece specialists carry hidden value in this market.
First Goalscorer settles Yes if the named player scores the opening goal of the match. Own goals don't count: the next legitimate scorer takes the First Scorer credit. Odds are typically 3-5x the Anytime price for the same player. Most bookmakers void First Scorer if the player doesn't play.
Same selection logic as Anytime Scorer (goals-per-game, recent form, opponent defence) but with extra weight on penalty takers and direct free-kick takers because they take more shots earlier in matches. BetBot's daily scorer pick on /scorer-today is the same player for both markets, but you'll often see better value at First Scorer odds.

Typically 3-5x the Anytime price for the same player. A striker at 1.95 Anytime might be 5.50 to 7.50 First Scorer.
Penalty takers (more chances of opening goals from set pieces). Direct free-kick takers. Strikers who play high up the pitch.
0-0 final score voids First Scorer at most bookmakers. Always check terms.
