Quarter lines confuse everyone at first: a -0.75 bet can half-win, and a +0.25 bet can half-lose. Choose your side, line, stake and odds, enter a final score, and this calculator settles the bet exactly the way a bookmaker does, splitting the stake across the two half-lines where needed.
The line applies to the team you back. Quarter lines (.25, .75) split your stake across the two nearest half-lines.
Add the handicap to your team's goals, then compare against the opponent. Three families of line behave differently:
Whole lines (0, -1, -2): win, lose, or push. Back a team at -1 and a one-goal win returns your stake: the adjusted score is level, so the bet voids. This is the only handicap family where your money can come back untouched.
Half lines (-0.5, -1.5, +0.5): no push is possible, because half goals do not happen. Every bet wins or loses in full. A -0.5 bet is identical to backing the team to win the match.
Quarter lines (-0.25, -0.75, +1.25): your stake splits in half across the two neighbouring lines. A 100 stake at -0.75 is 50 at -0.5 and 50 at -1. If your team wins by exactly one: the -0.5 half wins, the -1 half pushes. You win on half your money, hence the name half-win.
Backed at -0.75, won by 1: half win. Return = (stake/2 × odds) + stake/2.
Backed at -0.25, draw: half loss. Return = stake/2. Half pushes, half loses.
Backed at +0.25, draw: half win. The +0 half pushes, the +0.5 half wins.
Backed at -1.25, won by 1: half loss. The -1 half pushes, the -1.5 half loses.

What does -0.75 mean in Asian handicap?
Half your stake goes on -0.5 and half on -1. If your team wins by one goal you win the -0.5 half and push the -1 half, a half-win. Win by two or more and both halves win in full.
What happens at handicap 0 if the match ends in a draw?
The bet pushes and your full stake is returned. Level handicap, also written 0.0 or DNB-like, only settles when one team wins the match.
Can an Asian handicap bet be void?
Yes, on whole lines when the adjusted score is level: -1 with a one-goal win, -2 with a two-goal win, or 0 with a draw. Half and quarter lines never fully void, though quarter lines can half-push.
Why are Asian handicap odds usually around 1.90-2.00?
The line moves instead of the price. Bookmakers shift the handicap in quarter-goal steps until both sides attract balanced money near even odds, which is also why the margin stays low.
Is -0.5 the same as betting the win?
For settlement, yes: it wins if the team wins and loses otherwise. The price can differ slightly from the 1X2 win price because the two markets carry different margins, so check both.
